Description
The spot urine calcium/creatinine ratio (U-CCR) is a test that measures the amount of calcium in a urine sample relative to the amount of creatinine, another substance found in urine. It’s a quick and convenient way to assess how well the kidneys are handling calcium and can be used to screen for hypercalciuria (excess calcium in the urine).
- A normal U-CCR is generally considered to be <0.14, according to academic sources.
- Values exceeding 0.20 are often indicative of hypercalciuria.
